My name is Kara Laws and I am a business educator and author of the book, Don’t Suck at Business.
I teach women all the steps, in the right order, to building a solid business foundation.
Not knowing what to do with your business SUCKS. Not being able to pay the bills SUCKS. Crying under your desk SUCKS. Working out of a space with mice, skunks, and all the bugs because you can’t afford something better SUCKS.
That is why I am here. I have been through all the hard parts of business. I wish there was someone who taught me AT THE BEGINNING how to do it right.
I don’t want other women to go through what I went through. I want YOU to MAKE MONEY. I want your business to add value to your life instead of drain your soul and joy.

I have started six businesses. I have sold four businesses and still run two.
I have a house of boys and a great husband.
My business is usually the sole income for our family.
Business is not a game that I am playing on the side. This is real life.
And your business is real to me as well. I want women all over the world to have more finanical freedom, feel confident in their skills, and KNOW how to provide for their families.
I created the Launch Your Business Academy to make business education accessible to women everywhere. Because of these I give out one scholarship for every five women who join the academy.

Anita legler
Project Manager
Anita Legler joined the Launched team as a Project Manager in November 2024, but her history with Kara goes way back. They worked together as teens in a pizza shop where Kara first started developing her ideas about how not to run a business, and then Anita followed Kara across state lines as adults when Kara started a photography business about 15 years ago.
Anita’s passion for organizing, building efficient systems, and ensuring everything has its place makes her a perfect fit for her role. As part of the Launched team, Anita thrives on keeping projects streamlined, schedules on track, and tasks moving forward—ensuring that nothing slips through the cracks.
Married to the biggest goofball on the planet for 12 years, Anita and her husband are raising four beautiful—but slightly feral—children who make sure there’s never a dull moment. When she’s not managing event magic at Launched and balancing family chaos, you can find her on stage in community theater productions, leading her church choir or sewing her heart out!
Ashton Christensen
Business Assistant
Ashton Christensen grew up in the same hometown as Launched Academy founder Kara and now lives in a small town in Utah, where she balances entrepreneurship, family life, and a whole lot of ambition.
She earned her Master Esthetician license and built her own skincare business from the ground up. Living in a small town pushed her to think bigger—expanding her business online and discovering a passion for social media, digital strategy, and the behind-the-scenes work that helps businesses grow.
Today, Ashton serves as Kara’s Business Assistant at Launched, where she supports operations, content, and client experience—all while continuing to run her own business. She’s also a proud mom to two little boys, wife to a wildland firefighter, and caretaker of her beloved milk goats. Ashton brings heart, hustle, and real-world small business experience to everything she does.
Britta Vercoutter
Coach
Britta joined Launched in May 2023. Today, she serves as Academy Coach and Website Lead at Launched. She supports members inside the program, helps refine messaging, and keeps weekly check-ins and community communication running smoothly.
With a background in teaching, design, and marketing, Britta has always been drawn to clarity and structure. She’s the kind of person who color-codes a plan, asks the extra question, and finds the missing piece others overlook.
Britta grew up in Belgium, lived in several countries, and now calls Barcelona home. She’s also building her own education brand, is a former salsa teacher, and is raising two kids who keep her humble and on her toes.
Britta brings thoughtfulness, precision, and steady encouragement to everything she does and genuinely loves supporting women build businesses that work in real life, not just on paper.
Chantel Valdez
Graphics & Social Media
Chantel joined the Launched team in December 2024 and supports the team through graphic design and social media content creation. With a lifelong passion for the arts, she enjoys helping people communicate clearly and creatively online.
A lifelong resident of the same small town she grew up in, Chantel has known Kara since their school days and has long admired her vision, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Outside of Launched, Chantel works in elementary fine arts education, leading creative instruction for students in grades K-5.
As a dedicated single mom of two, she balances work and family life with humor, sarcasm, and heart — whether that means choreographing dances with her daughter or gaming alongside her son.
Jennifer Kempfer-norris
Systems & Tech
Jennifer Kempfer-Norris (JKN) has supported the Launched team for several years, leading funnel strategy and automation build-outs with precision and bold execution. Known as the Funnel Bad-Ass and go-to HighLevel expert, she helps turn complex ideas into simple, scalable systems that convert.
With a gift for breaking down strengths, audience insights, and value positioning, JKN thrives on helping solopreneurs transform messy, half-formed ideas into crystal-clear, high-converting offers. She believes funnels don’t have to be complicated or tech-heavy—they need to be intentional, lean, and built to move someone from “maybe” to “I’m in.”
Based in Kansas City, JKN balances life as a mom of two with running her own travel business, bringing the same high energy and strategic thinking to everything she builds.
Whether she’s mapping automation, refining an offer, or tracking conversion data, she leads with straightforward direction, contagious enthusiasm, and strategy you can trust.
Luna

Luna is the curious explorer of the Launched universe. The small but mighty astronaut who reminds entrepreneurs that building a business is a lot like exploring space. It’s exciting, a little unpredictable, and much easier when you have the right mission plan.
You’ll spot Luna popping up across Launched Academy lessons, workshops, and resources, usually pointing the way toward smarter systems, clearer strategy, and the next step forward for business owners who are serious about building something that lasts.
Luna was brought to life by Launched house illustrator Cami Hales, a proud Launched Academy alumnus who turned her creative talents toward helping the community visualize the spirit of exploration that drives every Launched entrepreneur.
